Krka waterfalls

The Croatian national park Krka around the river of the same name is a habitat in total of about 860 plant species and 220 animal species. In addition to one of the largest bat colonies in Europe, there are many amphibians in the lake area and in the marshes, reptils in the woody and rocky areas, endemic fishes in the river. Krka is one of the most valuable biotopes in Europe for bird migration in spring and autumn. For entering the park you have to pay a fee.

The source of the Krka is located at the Topoljski waterfall, which is no longer located in the national park, but it is also protected. Beside the river are many small waterfalls, eight large ones, seven of them within the national park Krka. The largest of these is the Skradinski buk (17 steps with a total height of 45.7 m), composed of rocky barriers, islands and lakes, which are crossed by a network of paths and bridges for hikers.

Kornati mit Silbersee

Kornati Inselgruppe (auch Kornaten genannt) ist der Stolz Kroatiens und ein beliebtes Reiseziel der Gästen aus der ganzen Welt. Die Kornati-Inseln sind die größte und dichteste Inselgruppe in der kroatischen Adria. Sie bestehen aus über 100 kleinen Eilanden und Riffen. Sie sind größtenteils als Nationalpark Kornaten geschützt. Die größte Insel der Kornaten heißt Kornat und gibt der Inselgruppe ihren Namen.

Vodice with its market

Vodice has got its name from the water sources. Thanks to this natural phenomen Vodice have exported to the end of the 19th century drinking water. Today two fountains are preserved in the town square in memory of the tradition.

If you are loving fish, the market is located in the center, it will be the right place for you. The best selection of fish is available early in the morning. There are also fresh fruits, vegetables and homemade products such as olive oil, wine, dried figs and other delicious things available.

In the summer, the streets and squares in Vodice are transformed into an "open theater". There are many street artists, singers, dancers, painters, comedians and the whole city lives to its fullest. Many bars and clubs come to life.
